Instructors

Pauline Brennan

From a lifetime of interest in exercise and fitness I first became interested in Tai Chi in the early 2000s.

I initially studied with various teachers of differing styles before settling on the traditional Chen style Tai Chi.

I now train regularly with Karel and Eva Koskuba who were accepted as 20th generation lineage disciples by Grand Master Chen Xiaowang in March 2006, and Phil Muil and Emma Westlake who are disciples of Chen Bing

I am fully committed to continuing my own training especially with highly respected teachers in the world of Tai Chi and travel extensively to improve my practice and knowledge.

My background is in education and counselling. I have taught Tai Chi for resilience to young people and teach regular classes in Hayling Island, Buriton, Clanfield, Westbourne and Emsworth.

My enthusiasm for the art continues to grow and I am a fully registered and insured instructor with the Tai Chi Union of Great Britain. It is my hope that others will become familiar with this ancient and wonderful art and share my enthusiasm for the practice and benefits for many years to come.

My passion for practicing Tai Chi started in 2002 and was instant.

On beginning my Tai Chi study, I spent two and a half years practicing Yang style Tai Chi before changing to the original Chen style Tai Chi which I have practiced ever since. I also have knowledge of Sun style.

The more I discover about this wonderful ancient art, the more engrossed and enthusiastic I become.

I am fully committed to continuing my own training especially with highly respected teachers in the world of Tai Chi and travel extensively to improve my practice and knowledge.

Currently my main teachers are Karel and Eva Koskuba who were accepted as 20th generation lineage disciples by Grand Master Chen Xiaowang in March 2006.

I also attend regular seminars from several other recognised Senior Chen style instructors and whenever possible I attend events taught by members of the original Chen family.

My background is in the property professions but I have always believed that there must be a balance in life and for many years I sailed competitively with four European championships to my name. I now absorb myself in Tai Chi with similar levels of commitment.

As well as continuing my surveying business part time I now teach Tai Chi regular classes in Maidenhead, Flackwell Heath and on zoom. I also teach private lessons to individual students and intend to slowly but steadily increase my teaching of Tai Chi where hopefully my enthusiasm will encourage others to benefit from the many facets Tai Chi has to offer.

Robert Pehrson

I have practiced Tai Chi for 30 years, exploring different approaches until 2006 when I settled on the Chen style taught by the Chinese Internal Arts Association.  I continue to study and develop my own practice, my main teachers being Karel and Eva Koskuba, both 20th generation disciples in the Chen lineage. What has always excited me about Tai Chi is the way that this ancient martial art applies to modern living.  So often we take our bodies for granted, the stress and urgency of everyday life interfering with our intrinsic grace and ease of movement, impacting our health and ease of mind.  My goal for my Tai Chi classes is to guide students to develop the soft and free movement that is the basis of Tai Chi.
